Who are you?
When do you play on House 559 Music?
Sundays Bi Weekly 2-4pm
Describe your music style? What’s different about you compared to other DJs?
I combine minimal and the deeper sounds of tech house to create sets with rolling beats and catchy vocals
What attracted you to play at House 559 Music?
After meeting Max at an event, I played as a guest, I saw how determined he was to make it work and how well it was doing and wanted to become a resident.
Who are your favourite DJ/Producers?
Michael Bibi, Victor Polo & Reelow
Where do you find music inspiration?
Listening to my favourite artists’ mixes and of course raving, I really think it inspiration blossoms with both mixing and producing when you actually go to a good event and hear great beats
What is one track that never gets old for you, no matter how many times you hear it?
Luca Radez – Breakfast
How did u get into djing/ what’s your musical background? I started DJing in September 2017 with no musical background. I’ve always been a raver and always contemplated started so I finally decided to take the plunge and buy myself a setup for home, within a couple of months I was playing at egg and I’m now producing my own tracks. I’ve really enjoyed the journey so far!
What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?
I normally put a collection of beats in a playlist and group tracks that work really well together and have them split into beginning middle and end of set depending on where and what time I’m playing.
What are your main challenges as a DJ?
I’m extremely hard on myself with both mixing and producing. I always feel like if it’s not perfect it’s not good enough but I need to have faith in my own ability and just run with it
What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a DJ? As an attendee?
My most memorable night as a DJ would have to be playing egg basement supporting Joey Daniel. I played an hour and a half set to a completely full basement and the vibe was amazing.
My most memorable night as an attendee is music on at amnesia, I’ve been twice now and both parties were amazing.
What is one mistake you see a lot of DJs making? / What advice would you give to aspiring DJs?
Create your own sound, put the hours in searching for those hidden gems that nobody has heard yet and don’t give up. I think a lot of DJs get complacent if they don’t get bookings for a while (I’ve been there) but trust your talent and keep moving forward and they will come.
What’s next for you? Where can we find you? (upcoming gigs) I have got a few dates at egg coming up and I am also in talks with a few newer events so hopefully quite a bit will be going on by the end of 2018!
