Who are you?

When do you play on House 559 Music?
Bi-weekly Wednesday 6-8pm

Describe your music style? What’s different about you compared to other DJs?
Chunky and Deep house! I’m a sucker for a vocal! I’m an original old skool Uk Garage head so I’ve implemented that into my current music style.

What attracted you to play at House 559 Music?
London based, early stages and wanted to work with a station that is growing.

Who are your favourite DJ/Producers?
Matt Jam Lamont, Scott Diaz, Sam Divine, Kings of Tomorrow, Todd Edwards and of course the King DJ EZ!

Where do you find music inspiration?
Everywhere especially Social media and gigs I go to! There is so much online these days you can get access to almost anything!

What is one track that never gets old for you, no matter how many times you hear it?
Too many to name however, Kings of tomorrow – Finally!

How did u get into djing/ what’s your musical background?
When I was 15 I went to an under 18s night and Dj ez was playing! Ever since then seeing him behind the decks on wanted to DJ. I was a vinyl junkie and strictly Uk Garage & 4×4.

What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?
Warm up vibes to get people tapping their feet then move into the ‘Happy Screwface’ phase.

What are your main challenges as a DJ?
Getting gigs, these days you mainly need to be producing and releasing tracks to get booked or have a substantial following on social media. Lots of productions in the pipeline.

What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a DJ? As an attendee?
Attendee: Garage Nation @ Eros – DJ EZ & B-live going in!
As s DJ: Playing at Ministry of sound! Great to have that ticked off the bucket list and the
vibe was on point!

What is one mistake you see a lot of DJs making? / What advice would you give to
aspiring DJs?
Don’t run before you can walk! Everyone has to work through the ranks, lots of Djs see all the big events like Abode & Elrow etc and would love to play there however haven’t worked through the ranks and played those warm up sets, and played those gigs where you’re getting booked to play to no one. I think it’s a massive learning curve to do these!

What’s next for you? Where can we find you? (upcoming gigs)
31st August @ Dalston rooftop.

Your favourite mix? (of yourself)
My mixtape sessions #019. It got such a good reception online and most played on my soundcloud!
